Plantar Wart Seed: Everything You Need To Know About

Plantar wart seeds are often thought of as something entirely different than what they are. It is not uncommon to hear a person refer to plantar wart seeds as the place from which you obtain the virus that causes plantar warts.

Before discussing exactly what plantar warts seeds really are, knowing what a plantar wart is will help you understand what exactly the seed part of the wart has to do with anything.

How Are Plantar Wart Seeds Formed?

Plantar warts are formed through exposure to a particular virus. This virus is one of more than 100 different forms of the virus HPV. HPV causes warts on different body parts, though the one that causes plantar warts will only occur on the soles of your feet and nowhere else.

This virus is one that thrives in warm, wet environments. This means you won’t pick it up walking through the living room or in a hotel room without shoes. However, you can pick it up in the bathroom or shower of a hotel, gym, or even the deck of a pool.

Fortunately, unless you already have open cuts, sores, or broken skin on the bottom of your foot, you will not catch this virus. Additionally, you will not catch HPV from touching the foot of a person who does have a plantar wart.

To prevent catching a plantar wart you can do two things. You can ensure that your feet are well moisturized to prevent the bottoms of your feet from becoming dry and cracking, which allows the virus to enter your skin and cause warts.

You can also wear shoes or flip flops when showering or walking around hotels and gyms if you have any open wounds on your feet. Finally, if someone in your household has a plantar wart, you might want to consider wearing shoes in the shower and bathroom of your own home.

What Do Plantar Wart Seeds Look Like?

Unlike regular warts that extend outward from your skin, plantar warts typically do not. The reason for this is that your body weight forces them up and in when you walk or stand. This is where the seed comes into play. Plantar wart seeds is not a seed.

It is not something that carries the virus. It is actually nothing more than a tiny blood clot formed by the virus that causes your plantar wart. It is found, most often, in the center of a plantar wart. It appears to look like a seed because it a small black dot, usually no bigger than the tip of a pin.

These seeds are not harmful, nor are they anything to worry about as plantar warts are not cancerous. They aren’t usually painful, but some people do experience some pain associated with the formation of a plantar wart.

If yours is causing you pain, contact your doctor to discuss a treatment method. While there are some treatment methods that work from home, your doctor might simply recommend removal if the pain is significant. Removal pain is also significant, but it only lasts a week or so.

Plantar warts can stick around for years until your body’s immune system is finally able to rid your body of the virus. If you can’t stand the pain for that long, the more significant pain from removal and a week or so of discomfort might seem much more appealing. Your doctor might suggest several removal methods, which will even remove the seed , or blood clot, formed by the wart.

Forms of removal include freezing off the wart with liquid nitrogen, laser removal that kills the vessels carrying the virus, and surgery to cut open the wart and remove it from your foot. Each one has its own risks and pain, which is why talking to your doctor is a necessary precaution.
